51th podium for Wallace, wins for Tarnovschi brothers
There was number of interesting results to see in Račice during the Sunday´s programme of ICF Sprint Canoe World Cup. Australian Kenny Wallace has claimed 51th podium finish in all major races since the 2012 London Games. "As far as I know it is a correct number. 51? I´ll take it," Wallace said in Račice.

Succesfull Germans and a home win for Dostal in Račice
The Saturday´s programme of ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Račice brought three victories to the German national team and two positions on the podium for the home team of Czech Republic.
Josef Dostal made the local fans happy as he dominated K1 Men´s 1000 m event. "I am really happy for this win at home," Dostal said. "It is important for me on the way to the Olympics as it brings some quietness into my head and on the other hand it gives me self-confidence that I am capable of winning. But honestly I realise that nothing is for sure so I know that a lot of hard work is infront of me."

Favourites Brendel, Poulsen and other are in the finals in Račice
The first day in Racice was made for the favourites: Rene Holten Poulsen (DEN) succeed to the final in the K1M 1000 m heat and can add the second World Cup victory of the season (after Duisburg). Sebastian Brendel (GER) dominated the heat as well and on Saturday he will be the favourite of C1M 100 m against local Martin Fuksa. Inna Osipenko-Rodomska (AZE) could hand Azerbaijan its first World Cup win in a women's event this weekend in K1W 200 m.

Testing GPS system for race visualisation
The ICF and Swiss Timing have introduced a global positioning system (GPS) for all 3 World Cup events in anticipation for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016 where this system will be used. On each boat for the Olympic discipline races a tracking device will be mounted. In order to facilitate the process and not to disrupt the athlete’s preparation it is requested all boats have a holder fixed on the deck of the boat for the tracker in advance of the races.
Wallace, Poulsen, Brendel, Fuksa... Stars are coming to Račice
More than 600 paddlers from 54 countries are coming to the 2016 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Račice. Among them are stars like Ken Wallace from Australia, René Holten Poulsen from Denmark, Sebastian Brendel from Germany and many others. You can find the preliminary starts list HERE.
The Czech Canoe Team is 36 racers strong - including Martin Fuksa, C1 500 m World Champion, or Josef Dostál who got silver at K1 1000 m in Milano 2015. „It`s an honor for us to organize one of the three World Cup races this year. Many of our elite paddlers and also talented young athletes have a chance to compete aginst the world`s best paddlers at home," Jan Boháč, the President od the Czech Canoe Union said. "This year`s World Cup is also the last test event before the 2017 World Championships which is going to take place in Račice."
