NEW program for the 2017 World Championships
The International Canoe Federation ICF has decided to change the disciplines for the 2017 ICF World Canoe Sprint Championships in Račice. Unlike previously announced there won`t be equal amount of races for male and female paddlers. The planned program is similar to schedule of 2015 World Championships. Therefore C1 500 m, K2 200 m or C4 races are back on schedule, as well as K4 1000 m. There is another K4 race as K4 500 m stayed also. You can check the provisional schedule HERE.
Kayaker Dostál paddled 750 kilometres in California
Three times Olympic medallist Josef Dostál has arrived from a training in sunny California. Just few days after his return he has started a season on Dr. Karel Popel’s Memorial, he won there 5 kilometres kayak race and also awarded some of the best competitors.

Check the disciplines for the 2017 World Championships
There are some major changes in the program of the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships as of 2017. Men and women have the same amount of disciplines. Men`s K4 1000 m was replaced by the K4 500 m. Men`s K2 200 m is missing, as well as C1 500 m or C4 races. Female have five canoe races (C1 200, 500 and 5000 m and C2 200 and 500 m). Check the table with disciplines.
Already 33 countries have registered for the Championships
It`s going to be an awesome canoe sprint event and you shouldn`t miss all the stars. It`s not even spring yet and there are already 33 countries and 750 participants registered for the 2017 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Račice. For the paracanoe championships 143 participants have already registered. The organizers expect all the numbers to double by the start of the event. New canal will make things easier for paddlers
There is a lot of going on in Račice before the 2017 European Rowing Championships and the 2017 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships. Catering facilities as well as stands for fans were reconstructed. Also new canal is being built at 600 m mark above finish line to make things easier for paddlers coming to the start of races for 500 m and 200 m. You can check some photos on our Facebook page.
