The championships is open, show finished with a firework

President of the European Canoe Association, Mr. Albert Woods, has declared the 2019 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships officially open on Wednesday 10^th July. In the beginning of the opening ceremony all 35 European countries participating at the championships were introduced. The hosting country closed the parade of flag-bearers – kayaker Stepanka Sobiskova waved the Czech flag.

During the opening ceremony Governor of the Usti Region Oldřich Bubeníček welcomed all the athletes and team members. Jan Boháč, President of the Czech Canoe Union, wished all the teams best of luck.

Participants of the opening ceremony could observe a show of cheerleaders as well as a performance of a group called HOPsej on the jumping shoes. A daylight firework closed the ceremony.
